'Hello Frodo' or 'Kitty, the Hobbit'
I couldn't decide which working title to use for this project... You can choose whichever you like :-)
The softie is for a girl, who once asked me to turn his boyfriend into a softie. Oh no, no, it wasn't black magic, the boy is alive and in good health!:) What's more, now it was his turn to ask me to make this design in 3D for his girlfriend's birthday. The only change I had to make was kitty-hair - it had to look more like real Frodo's hair in he movie.
It must be the best-dressed kitty hobbit in the world, he has two sets of garment. I suppose he could use one on weekdays, one at the weekends. Or he can mix the two colours!

Usagi, the little panda
Chris is a nice guy for several reasons. He has had this old panda for about 13! years - they have travelled to 4 continents and gone on numerous hikes together. Chris and his girlfriend were celebrating their 5th anniversary not long ago, and he wanted to give a special gift to her. This was the idea he came up with, a little replica of the old plushie to remind her of the times already spent together. There was one little change I was asked to do: to make Usagi II stuffier than his older brother.
I loved how extremely precise Chris was when giving me the necessary details of Usagi, the old panda: he said Usagi was 15.1 cm tall! Not a millimeter shorter or taller :-) Guys are great :-) I also got a photo of the two panda guys - it was quite embarrassing to see them together... in my mind they are so real and unreal at the same time...
p.s. I have a dinner invitation from Chris in Hawaii - all I need now is someone who would like to invite me for a flight ticket...:-)

Bunny with butterfly wings
I love Finnish animals - their design is very sophisticated!
Kétéltű finn nyuszi: otthonos földön és levegőben is.
I've already turned a Finnish giraffe into a softie, and now it was 4-year-old Meea's bunny, that enchanted me. I had a very precise despcription of the details from her mom, and we discussed the question of arms as well. As usual, the artist was asked about the problem:
"I asked about the arms earlier and Meea said: "Mom, she is holding them
behind her!" (And looked me like the way little girls do, when moms and
dads are asking stupid questions.) So it would be nice to have them back
there. :)"
There are softies that are a bit more difficult to let go... I loved the bunny, I loved the way I had to handstitch all her little spots, I loved making the little portrait on her T-shirt...
