Doggie week

All by accident I was sewing dogs last week. The two big ones are now flying to Cyprus to meet their masters, Veronica and Sofia.

Sofia (9) drew the green doggie:

And  the white doggie belongs to Veronica, who is 10 years old:

And here comes the smallest one, young Idefix. He is a remake, a birthday present for Marina's husband. When young Idefix arrives, old Idefix can enjoy retirement.

Young Idefix is still a bit shy but hopes to be able to take over all the duties from old Idefix.

Cuchita

This is a softie for Olalla (even her name is so sweet :-)), who is a 1-year-old little Spanish girl. Olalla's godmother and her kids wanted to give the baby a very, very special present - they thought a softie would be perfect. The artist was Olalla's sister, who drew this doll when she was 4. They asked me to embroider some words on the softie's dress: "To Cuchita by Daniela & Los Madrinos. 2012"   A real family affair!

Tammy the Fox

Erin (aged 13) did not have special requests, her only desire was to have the same size ears for her fox - I hope she will be satisfied when holding the softie in her hands!

Sister softie

Johanna was 4 when her mom had her and her big sister, Caitlin draw each other, and then she made a scrapbook page with both drawings. She thought it would be something for them to look back on and laugh at in the future.

This spring the family moved to another state but their older daughter stayed behind while she finishes school. Johanna misses her big sister so much that her mom decided to get a softie version of her sister-drawing. I had some some help with the details: Caitlin has blonde hair and light blue eyes and her favourite colour is pink. Well, this is what I came up with.

And one more thing - Karen, the girls' mom was the very first person who said she was proud to be an owner of a DOODLIE-softiesmiley Thank you, Karen!

Blue nosed

This is what I called this softie. I was so glad to get it because I extremely loved the aura of the original drawing made by Freya. She is celebrating her 5th birthday soon with this softie-version of her Mom. Happy birthday, Freya!

Turtle

There were two kinds of softies I would have liked to sew very much, a mermaid and a turtle. I can't explain why... I am not very mermaidish and turtles are not my favourite animals. But I was given the chance - a lovely mermaid for Julia and this beautiful, cheerful turtle for Katharina.

Mom and Dad

And now the softie-friends one by one. Oh no, two by two!

Megan has fantastic, devoted parents and she wanted to give them some nice surprise. So she asked her daughters to draw their grandparents and here they are:

Dad is smoking a pipe (can you see the smoke..?) and I loved making his 15 fingers:

Mom is wearing lovely red earrings (they match her shoes!):

Making friends

These softies were spending some time together in my home. They were chatting, laughing, whispering secrets, looking out of the window, searching for the perfect earrings. I enjoyed their companysmiley

Happy couple

I could hardly wait to post this bride and groom - they arrived in Germany two weeks ago but they are wedding gifts and we didn't want to spill the beans. The day has come today!

The drawing was made by the daughter of one of the couple's friends and it was ordered by another friend. As it was hanging on a door in the couple's house, some conspiracy was needed to get hold of it...

Here is the result:

And the original work of art:

And this is what their friend wrote to me smiley:

"the bride and groom have arrived, walking on tip-toe through a field of flowers, and accompanied by a really sweet little bird :-)

they are just *perfect* and i am 684% sure that the real couple will be charmed and delighted. in fact they will probably fall over...

i spent hours just looking at every little detail :-) love the bows on the bride's shoes.. she has a fringe just like her doll's, and the groom's hair is also just like his doll's hair. ha ha! i am so looking forward to handing them over"

Congratulations, real(ly) happy couple!

Sári's tiny little kitty

What can I say...? It is a super cute mini cat made by Sári (6,5 years old) and me (a bit older).
